“Prayer can do more than all the money in the Bank of Ireland” (Venerable Catherine McAuley)
The Catherine McAuley Rose
Today, in the footsteps of Catherine McAuley, Sisters follow her teaching that “in silence and quiet the devout soul becomes familiar with God“. Whether active or retired, all Sisters seek and celebrate union with God in daily prayer.
They also provide opportunities for spiritual and faith development in their local areas. Some ways in which they do this include:
– working with members of the Circle of Mercy,
– giving lectio divina and scripture courses, leading meditation and other prayer groups,
– organising and leading guided retreats, training and forming prayer-guides and supervisors and giving spiritual guidance,
– working holistically with personal growth, relaxation and healing techniques.
