Emmaus Prayer

Lord, as we walk our earthly path be with us on the road, accompany us and encourage us in all we do. Those on the Emmaus Road were disappointed and confused; be with all who are disappointed today; for those who are fearful of these times as they see all their plans put on hold.

In the darkness and doubt

Eternal One, as we travel through life’s valleys, in the places of darkness, and despair, we know that you are with us.
Even when life’s doubts assail us, we know that you still abide with us, watching over us.
Strengthen our faith.
Help us remember that you never give us more than we can handle.
Embolden us to share our doubts, to question our absolute truths, our certainties, and to grow ever closer to you.

O Christ, true Son of God,
Lamb who was slain, now risen in glory,
listen to our prayers.
Grant that we may die to all that is evil,
and rise to good works;
through your mercy, O our God,
you are blessed,
and live and govern all things,
