Ministries Of Support

St. Vincent de Paul

Now more than ever, it is desirable to help those who are experiencing poverty. Great demands are made on the local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Our Sisters help in this area both practically and financially.

Visitation

Loneliness and isolation are debilitating feelings endured by people who are housebound. The sight of a friendly face and the sound of a kind word can be very welcome respite in a long, monotonous day.  Companionship and friendship are very valued gifts given cheerfully by the Sisters to people who are housebound due to age or infirmity.

Meals on Wheels

During the Blitz in Britain many people were left homeless. Because they were unable to cook their meals, a women’s volunteer group provided meals for them and so “Meals on Wheels” was born.

Today, in Manorhamilton, this service is provided by our Sisters with other volunteers. Elderly and housebound people can have nutritious meals daily.
