Children’s ward in Mutomo Hospital

Mutomo is situated in Eastern Province in a dry area where the supply of adequate water remains a perennial challenge. This community has been in existence since 1962 and the mission hospital was built in 1964.  Six Sisters are based here. Three work in the hospital as Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Ward Manager. Two teach in the local government primary school and one is currently on sabbatical in Ireland. The location is 75 kilometers from the main county town and despite many promises over the years, the road from Kitui is still made of murram and the hope for a tar surface never weans!
