Is a term used to describe the many and diverse activities of Mercy Sisters in support of family relationships.
Family Ministry describes the many and diverse activities of Mercy Sisters in support of families. It can take the shape of family-targeted educational programmes, such as parent and marriage courses, support groups for families with various life issues e.g. illness, disability, bereavement and psychotherapy and counselling for families in difficulty.
Sisters of Mercy also collaborate with relevant agencies – community, family and children’s service agencies, counselling centres, direct provision centres – supporting them financially and voluntarily.
Many Sisters visit homes and offer a caring and compassionate presence when invited.
