Author and broadcaster, Dearbhail McDonald and retired journalist Bryan Dobson co-host the two-part RTÉ documentary series The last Irish Missionaries, available now on the RTÉ player, screened on TV on 15 July (Part One) and 21 July (Part Two).

The series charts the rise and work of Irish missionaries, numbering 450 today and expected to fall below 200 by the end of this decade.

Part Two features the ministry of Mary Killeen rsm in Kenya’s Mukuru. This year marks 40 years of Mukuru Promotion Centre’s (MPC) service to the Mukuru Community, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, empowering the residents to live a more sustainable and dignified life.
