Give blood, give hope: together we save lives
This year many organisations, as well as the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year, are focussed on finding hope and giving hope in the midst of anxiety, uncertainty and unrest.
Today is World Blood Donor Day. The theme this year is focussed on the hope that life-saving gifts of blood give to their recipients through the generosity of blood donors.
In Jesus’ teaching in the parable of the Good Samaritan, a neighbour is a person who shows kindness and compassion to another.
Giving blood for the well-being of others is an example of being a good neighbour. We give thanks for those who are able to give this gift to those in need.
