24th May 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the signing by Pope Francis of Laudato Si’, the ground-breaking encyclical on environmental and economic issues addressed to every person on the planet about the state of our common home.

Our Mercy Congregation has long been committed to climate justice and the interconnectedness of all life. Engagement in awareness raising and theological reflection, attending conferences and giving presentations, organising workshops and forums, creating organic gardens and forming like-minded groups, are just some of the many ways in which this commitment continues to be expressed.

Laudato Si’ Week (24th May – 31st May) is a reminder of Pope Francis’ call to “hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor” (LS 49),  to build ” a harmony between the Creator, humanity and Creation” (LS 66) and to remember that “everything is related”.

During this week we will be posting on our public website key messages from Laudato Si’. We invite you to join us in reflecting on the ecological conversion to which we are each called.
