In this busy month of March, we hope to enjoy warmer, sunnier days as Spring starts in the Northern Hemisphere and the tail end of Summer in the Southern! The Lenten Season begins, Mother’s Day is on March 30th and we cannot forget St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th when everybody dons the green and becomes Irish!
During Lent we take time to Pray, Fast and Reflect.
Pray for peace in the world.
Pray for our communities.
Fast from enlarging our carbon footprints.
Fast from harsh actions and words.
Reflect on our lives.
Reflect on the sacrifices Jesus made for us.
Below is a Prayer for Lent taken from the Resources Section in our Congregational Website. To view these resources, please click here.
Fasting This Lent
Fast from hurting words and say kind words
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope
Fast from worries and trust in God
Fast from pressure and be prayerful
Fast from bitterness and fill your heart with joy
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others
Fast from grudges and be reconciled
Fast from words, be silent, so you can listen
Pope Francis
We should also take a moment to say a prayer for Pope Francis in his time of ill health and wish him a speedy recovery.
Enjoy this month, look forward to Easter and give thanks to God and his Son for the sacrifices they made for us.
