A staggering 250% increase in the number of cases in relation to refusal of access to emergency accommodation. The year 2022 saw a significant increase in the proportion of those coming from outside the Dublin area.
Policy work included particular focus on the campaign for a referendum on the right to housing as a protection for people in need of adequate shelter.
Legal training sessions on Housing Law were presented to other organizations involved in supporting people in difficulty. Working in collaboration with others is at the heart of MLRC’s approach.
MLRC increased, significantly, their outreach through social media and digital presence.
As Sisters of Mercy we are very happy to be among the main funders of this critical service to persons affected by homelessness.
