Living The Spirit After Christmas

In this article Monsignor David Morrison extracts from a number of his reflections on Christmas.

Christmas challenges our perception of the world…

The Incarnation celebrates God’s commitment to the creation and re-creation of the world.

By living our faith we can send the message that Jesus Christ is with us.

To find our way, we need revelation. We cannot do it by ourselves… Nothing but the Incarnation will do.

At the end of the path, the revelation when it comes is incredible, yet utterly familiar.

God is nearer to us than we are to ourselves.

This is the end of all our longing, the fulfillment of our dreams. This is the answer to our dearest wish: yes, hope is possible, yes, love is possible.

Even a lifetime, it seems to me, is not long enough to come to an understanding of the full meaning of the Incarnation. That is because it is all about love, and a love that is more than our human loves can reflect.

God is love…
