Good News From The West

Two new exciting Podcasts have been added to our collection, Stories from the Mercy World, on Kitty McAuley’s YouTube site. When we saw the response to our earlier five presentations, we wanted to tell even more of the heart-warming stories we live every day.

Angela telling her story

One video/Podcast is about Angela Bracken. Angela had an interesting choice before her, when she was eighteen – years ago – the convent or the stage. As many fairy tales turn out, by choosing one option with a full heart, Angela was rewarded with both options becoming available to her. She relates how she was led to share the gift of drama, from within the providential theatre of Mercy.

Music has always been part of Angela’s life, and drama continues to nourish her spirit. Here, Angela shares some of her journey to discover how to share Drama Therapy with many, at Third Level in Ireland. There is no knowing how many lives have been touched through Angela’s good humoured work. Angela continues to reach people’s lives for good, as she shares her skills in her local area.

The other podcast we are happy to share is one featuring Noreen Lyons and Anne Mills, who live in our ecology centre in An Gáirdín. Noreen shares some of the restlessness she felt during the 1990’s. For all of us in our Congregation, this was a time of hopeful unity; for South Africa, it was a time of new freedom; and for a group of four Sisters in the Clonfert Diocese, it was a time for engagement with the visionary Universe Story.

Anne shares how she moved to this rural, small community in Portumna from a very different reality in Galway City. Her sincere sharing on this, and how she came to know the worth and wonder of the Universe Story, is refreshingly honest.

An overview of An Gáirdín

An Gáirdín story centres on the whole Web of Life. Many workshops offered through the centre encourage sustainability. We are invited to walk with Anne and Noreen through this Nationwide-style adventure. They are gracious hostesses, ever ready with Mercy hospitality.
