This new publication by Anne Francis, entitled Called, gathers the voices and experiences of female ministers in various religious denominations across the island of Ireland. One of the persons interviewed by Anne Francis in this book is Sr. Margaret Kiely rsm, Southern Province.
Commenting on this book Sr. Olive Flanagan, Sister of Mercy, notes: “Following a comprehensive historical and theological overview in part 1, the great merit of the research in this book is seen in the witness of the interviewees, which gives such insight into the nature and role of the ministry of women in Ireland today. . . .”
Anne Francis is a practitioner in spiritual and psychological care at Marymount University Hospital and Hospice in Cork. She has worked in ministry for over thirty-five years and teaches pastoral and practical theology in Ireland and the UK.
