World Art Day – April 15th

World Art Day is celebrated annually on the 15th of April, the birthday of world famous artist, Leonardo da Vinci (1452). The creative work of Leonardo de Vinci including his ageless Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, have engaged the nations of the earth in conversation, exploration, reflection and questions over hundreds of years. Good Art is always a conversation piece and Great Art is a timeless piece.

World Art Day is the perfect time
to create what only you can create
to bring joy to others in a song, a poem, a painting, a party…

Art, in some form, is as old as we are. It connects the chapters of history and culture from the ancient caves to the modern museum.
Art says what words cannot say. It is a deeper level of communication and evokes our deepest thoughts
Art is the language of freedom and allows human emotion to find unlimited expression.
Art is a global language connecting all people.

The COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated how our various artistic expressions assist mental health and enhance general wellbeing.

Today we pause to thank artists everywhere who capture the story in indelible strokes.

For the eyes that see the beauty – We give you thanks
For the hands that draw the light  – We give you thanks
For the soul that tastes the dewdrop – We give you thanks
For the heart that feels the flower – We give you thanks
For the ears that hear the birdsong – We give you thanks
For the poet that writes the line – We give you thanks
For the singer and the dancer – We give you thanks
For the footprint in the sand  – We give you thanks
