Our Sisters in Peru are helping their local communities during COVID-19. Below are some pictures and a little insight into their daily life.
Erika takes homework once a week to a student who has no mobile or internet, she supports one of the “Common Pots” where families who have very little come together to cook and she teaches a class for parents online while encouraging them to pray as a family.
Dora organises the distribution of 120 chickens donated for needy families and helps a little boy with schoolwork.
Maureen continues her work of spiritual direction and support by phone and by Zoom.
Calixta continues her work in the addiction centre Sal y Luz – she oversees the growing of maize which the residents feed to the guinea pigs (a food delicacy in Peru).
Cáit accompanies Elmida to bring home “the animals” in the afternoon. Before making the return journey they pray the Rosary together for all suffering as a result of COVID-19.
Angelica supports a “Common Pot” in Alto Trujillo. She also teaches her classes, has meetings with the other teachers, supports students online and provides school supplies for families.
