The World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be celebrated on Sunday, 12th May, 2019, also known as ‘Good Shepherd Sunday.’ The purpose of this day is for the Church to pray that the Lord of the harvest will send labourers into his harvest (Mt. 9:38; Lk. 10:2). We pray that young men and women will hear and respond generously to the Lord’s call to religious life and priesthood.

Tiarna An Fhómhair
Chuir do Bheannachtai ar daoine óga a
bhfuil an bronntanas misneach chun
freagra a thabhairt do ghlaoch.
Oscailt a gcroí a idéalacha mór, le rudaí is fearr.
Analaigh isteach gach ceann de do
dheisceabail le grá frithpháirteach agus
ag tabhairt-do gairmeacha blossom sa
ithirmhaith de na daoine dílis.
Cothaigh siúd i saol reiligiúnach, paróiste
aireachtaí, agus do theaghlaigh le muinín
agus cairde cuireadh a thabhairt do
dhaoine eile a glacadh an cosán trom
agus maorga an saol beannaithe a
thabhairt duit.
Tar le cheile le Iosa trí urnaí agus
sacraimint, ionas gur féidir linn
comhoibriú a bhruil tú i bhfoirgneamh do
réimeas trócaire agus firinne, ar córa
agus na síochána.
Amén.
A prayer for World Vocations Day of Prayer 2019 in english:
Vocation Prayer
LORD of the Harvest,
BLESS young people with the gift of
courage to respond to your call. Open their
hearts to great ideas, to great things.
INSPIRE all of your disciples to mutual love
and giving – for vocations blossom in the
good soil of faithful people.
INSTILL those in religious life, parish
ministries, and families with the confidence
and grace to invite others to embrace
the bold and noble path of a life
consecrated to you.
UNITE us to Jesus through prayer and
sacrament, so that we may co-operate
with you in building your reign of mercy
and truth, of justice and peace.
Amen
