The Sisters of Mercy are an International Congregation of vowed religious women in the Catholic Church. They were founded in Dublin Ireland in 1831. They have a special focus of working with people who are poor, marginalized and disadvantaged by socio-economic, geographic, political, and environmental conditions because of systems, structures, and strategies that make people and the environment poor. For years the Sisters have worked in the alleviation of poverty through education, healthcare, Spiritual Formation and social ministries.
