The Western Province has just signed a new partnership agreement with the charity Vita. This will last for two years and continues a mutual relationship, for the good of many.
Both sides of the Partnership were happy to sign the official papers
Mercy values overlap with those of Vita. The shared goal is to build sustainable livelihoods for people, especially women, living in Cencha Woreda, Southern Ethiopia.
In the front are Maureen O’Dea (Board of Vita), Mary Walsh rsm (Western Provincial Leadership Team) and John Weakliam (CEO of Vita).
Standing are members of the Direction Three Working Group: Srs. Áine McGarty, Kathleen Glennon, Mary Concannon, Kathleen Conneally, Martina Barrett (PLT), Patricia Fahy and Juliet Walsh
Vita’s most recent project centres on bringing Irish seed potatoes to grow in Ethiopia. Because farmers can have two crops in the year, the yield is high.
The following video highlights how well the partnership is working.
