Now that I am trained to produce short programmes on Community Radio, I was delighted to explore environmental issues on a show recently. Since our Interprovincial Gatherings, the story of the American bee has stayed with me. Paula Downey’s excellent input brought home the vital place the bee has in the whole biosphere. The crisis, in which bees now finds themselves is a mirror of our own lives. To learn more about our Universe and the wonderful bee population, I invited one of our own Sisters, Máirín Ní Mhurchú and another friend Liamy MacNally.
You may hear the entire interview by clicking on the link below. It includes two breaks for music and advertisements and is an hour in length. Control and Click will get you there and then just click on the green circle to play.
Please remember to turn up your speakers.
Máirín, pictured below in the studio, shares some of her ministry. It involves working directly with Primary School children on environmental issues and sharing with them the wonder of the Universe Story.
Liamy can be seen here after the interview, where he shared his recent experience of bee-keeping and some of their intriguing life cycle.
After the show, I did two short interviews with my superb guests. They can be viewed using the links below. In them, Máirín speaks of the Interprovincial Gathering in Sligo and what has remained with her since then. Liamy, then, has a special invitation for all of us, in relation to bees.
